Carlton Linguard Jr. brings a wealth of experience and a well-rounded skill set to his hometown team in San Antonio. After a successful stint at Temple College during the 2019-20 season, where he was ranked as the 12th best junior college prospect in the nation by 247Sports, Linguard ventured to Kansas State for the 2020-21 and 2021-22 seasons before returning to San Antonio. Despite facing injuries that limited his sophomore year at Kansas State to just 17 games, Carlton showed his determination and resilience. During that season, he averaged 2.2 points and 1.3 rebounds per game while showcasing his proficiency beyond the arc, sinking 4 of 11 three-point attempts. His versatility and contribution to the team were evident.
The journey that led Linguard to the college ranks began with his stellar high school career at Stevens High School, where he was a three-year letterwinner and a two-year starter. His impressive stats and leadership helped lead the Falcons to 39 wins and consecutive appearances in the UIL Class 6A State Tournament during his final two years. As a junior and senior, Carlton averaged 13 points and 7.5 rebounds per game, earning him first-team all-district honors. In his senior year, he further elevated his game, averaging 15.3 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 1.3 blocks per game, earning second-team all-academic honors in addition to his basketball accolades.
