Karson Templin is a dominant force on the basketball court, showcasing exceptional skills and a remarkable work ethic. Standing at 6-8, this talented power forward/center has left an indelible mark on Lovejoy High School’s basketball program.
Throughout the 2022-2023 season, Templin consistently delivered impressive performances. Averaging 20.7 points per game, he showcased his scoring prowess, while also contributing 11.1 rebounds, 2.2 assists, and 2.0 blocks per game. These outstanding statistics solidified his reputation as one of the most versatile players in his division. The recognition Karson has received is well-deserved. His talent and dedication have earned him multiple accolades, including being named 5A All-State and All-Region twice, and winning the District MVP title twice. Furthermore, he has been a consistent presence on the First Team All-District roster for three consecutive years and was honored as the Defensive Player of the Year.
Not only has Karson excelled individually, but he has also left an enduring impact on Lovejoy High School’s record books. He currently holds the title of all-time leader in rebounds and blocks, as well as all-time season leader in points, rebounds, and blocks. In one remarkable game, he set a new record with an astounding performance of 41 points, 22 rebounds, and 8 blocks. Leading his team to three straight District Championships and two Area championships, Templin has played an integral role in their success. With a remarkable win/loss record of 76-17 over three seasons, his leadership and skill have been instrumental in establishing Lovejoy High School as a formidable basketball program.
Beyond high school, Templin had the opportunity to compete in the prestigious 2022 Nike EYBL, representing ProSkills. During the Peach Invitational Tournament (PIT), he showcased his abilities by averaging a double-double of 11 points and 10 rebounds, ultimately helping his team secure the PIT Championship.
Recognized for his outstanding performance, Karson Templin has received 16 scholarship offers, affirming his status as a highly sought-after player. With rankings of #21 in GASO and #30 in 247Sports.
